THE professional sports "bubble" is something I've often heard about over years but you never expect to experience it literally.

That's been the case for us one way or another through this season like no other, so it was good to be able to get out and about this week.
We've all spoken a lot about the bond we're building through this time on the road, but there's only so many hotel dinners you can have before it gets tedious.
With the restrictions that are in place for the season to go ahead, there's only a small window to get out of hotels and gyms and get away from basketball. A few of us made the most of being up here in Cairns and went on a crocodile tour, a few of the guys went fishing.
It was easy to enjoy knowing we'd earned it with the start to the season we've produced. There's a long way to go, and we're certainly not getting ahead of ourselves, but you have to enjoy the good times and the good moments because we've all learned along the way that tough times are always up around the bend.
With a seven-day lead-in to our next game, we've been able to have some fun away from the court and recharge the batteries. It's also a good chance to properly scrutinise our performances over the first three games.
We haven't even really looked back at games because the next one has been coming up so quickly. It's been good to take a deep breath and reflect on how we played and areas we can improve on.
I was a little concerned going into our last game against Brisbane because it was our third game in under a week and we obviously had a depleted roster. We didn't start the game with the intensity we needed to.
Whether it was a bit of a let-down from the great win over Cairns or guys were just low on energy, I'm not sure, but we were able to turn it around on the back of Tyler Harvey having an amazing second quarter and dragging us up with him.
It wasn't verbalised but we all knew Tyler wasn't going to be able to do it by himself and we'd all need to step up and play a role. I was pretty impressed with the way our guys played with maturity and stuck to our game plan and everything fell into place.
The guys got me a lot of good looks at the basket, Justinian Jessup got a couple of lay-ups to get himself going and rolled off a few great shots. It wasn't incredible dazzling offense, it was just savvy basketball players finding each other.
We're a young team but I thought it was a really mature performance. I've said from the start that this group's incredibly talented and everyone brings different assets and attributes to the game. I still think we've still got another couple of levels to go to and we'll need to.
To start this way is great but teams have obviously seen our stuff now and it puts a bit of a target on us so we have to keep improving and getting better. We've got Cairns this week and we know they'll be hungry for revenge so it could be a quick reality check if our attitude's not right.
I don't think anyone would've predicted we'd win our first three games on the road. Even in years where we've been successful we haven't had fantastic starts. We've typically got some wind behind us through that stretch at the end and made a run at the finals.
To start the way we have is exciting and it's got a lot of the fans excited as well. There's nothing concrete but the possibility of coming home and playing in front of our home fans in Wollongong before we head to the NBL Cup in Melbourne is very exciting.
Hopefully we can get a bunch of fans into the WIN Entertainment Centre and put on a good show for them.
