Kerrie Humphrey and Claire Roberts, of HiViz Events, are preparing to launch the Corrimal Park Farmers and Foodies Market on May 5.
Ms Humphrey and Ms Roberts met with Paul Boultwood from Corrimal Chamber of Commerce on Thursday to check out where the stalls will be placed under shady trees near Luke's Place.
"Farmers and foodies will be the identity of the weekly market every Wednesday from 12noon to 5pm," Ms Roberts said.
"But then on the first Wednesday of every month we will have some artisans come and join us with some art and craft."
Ms Humphrey and Ms Roberts said Paul Boultwood and Keira MP Ryan Park both encouraged the idea.
"Ryan and Paul from the chamber contacted us several years ago but we didn't think the timing was right for us at the time," Ms Roberts said.
"We revisited the idea later when Paul came to us again."
The two women are very experienced at running markets.
They started their first one in 2005 and have run the Kiama Makers and Growers Market for seven years. It is held on the fourth Saturday of the month.
Many new stall holders will be joining HiViz Events at Corrimal which works in perfectly with their schedule .
"Claire and I have been hunting for produce," Ms Humphrey said.
"We are running this as a weekly market on Wednesdays because all the farmers are committed to weekend events. We have found some really good farmers to join this market. We are really excited about the formula and the producers.
"We will have mushroom truffle products and honey mead, baked pastries, Italian breads and sourdough breads, jams and chilli sauces and plants and seedlings as well.
"We also have a garden art sculptor who is joining us. And we are trying to encourage as many local businesses as we can, especially after COVID."
Ms Roberts said the new markets will provide people in the northern suburbs with another alternative source of fresh produce direct from the farmers.
"People shop for fresh produce weekly, not monthly."

Mr Boultwood said the response from the Corrimal community was already very positive with 17,000 people liking a post about it on the Corrimal Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
"This is something we started to think about in the Corrimal Town Plan that was adopted by Wollongong City Council in 2015," he said.
"We spoke to Claire and Kerrie because we want to do it right.
"I think these weekly markets will not only help the community but charities in the local area as well.
"This will get something going in Corrimal that people have been wanting for many years."
Ms Humphrey said for the opening market on May 5 there will be a jumping castle, face painter, petting zoo and icecream van.
"It is a beautiful park. It is really user friendly," she said.
