Roving Wollongong Wolves relishing NSW NPL chase

After playing out a hard-fought 2-2 draw with the Stallions in Marconi last week, the Wolves travel north to face Sydney United 58 on Sunday before taking on Sydney Olympic at Belmore in a catch-up game next Wednesday.

"There's no such thing as an easy game and we've got a big couple of games coming up to look forward to. But like any other time, we'll prepare to go up there and win the three points," Wilkshire said.

"They've (United) got players that can hurt you if given the opportunity. They've got that quality. But at the same time, I think they've shown over recent weeks that there's weaknesses in their team, having conceded seven goals in the last two games."

While it is a busy schedule of games, the Wolves have enjoyed a decent break since that draw with Marconi. It was a result Wilkshire's men have learned from.

"It was tough, we were disappointed with the two early goals that we gave away after starting well. But the response was fantastic and we probably could have got more out of the game," the coach said. "But the boys are in good spirits and everyone's fighting fit. And we're in full swing preparing for Sunday's clash."

After last week's round one clash with Emerging Jets was postponed, the Illawarra Stingrays will kick off their NSW Women's NPL campaign this Sunday afternoon.

Bruce Tilt's team, which finished ninth last season, will travel to Sydney to face Football NSW Institute.
