Police attended the scene in Rothery Street, Bellambi about 10.40pm, where they found three vehicles with significant damage - but the driver was nowhere to be seen.
Luckily, it seemed no one was seriously injured.
"It certainly had the potential to be significantly worse," Chief Inspector Angela Burnell said.
Police believe the Commodore was travelling east along Rothery Street when it hit the two parked vehicles.
Witnesses reported seeing a male leaving the scene shortly after.
Chief Inspector Burnell said police would like to speak to that person.
She urged motorists to drive safely, and asked anyone with information to contact Wollongong police station on 4226 7899.
