The Wollongong rally on November 12 will follow similar events in Wagga Wagga on Tuesday, Goulburn on Wednesday and Nowra Thursday.
In September NSW Teachers Federation deputy president Henry Rajendra told the Mercury the teacher shortage was so critical in NSW that this year alone 80 schools had taken industrial action.
He said while no Illawarra schools were on this list, it didn't mean there wasn't a shortage of teachers in the region's public schools.
Mr Rajendra said it just meant no Illawarra schools had taken action, adding the "staffing crisis was hitting schools across NSW".
Well on Friday, November 12 teachers from a number of Wollongong schools will rally from 8am at a yet to be disclosed Wollongong location.
Mr Rajendra warned that without action, the shortages of fulltime and casual teachers will grow due to rising enrolments, a 30 per cent decline in people studying teaching, a rapidly ageing workforce and unsustainable workloads.
