Western Sydney will play their role in a part of history as they take on the Phoenix's women in their inaugural game, which will be held before the A-League Men's match between the clubs.
Chauvet is gearing up for her second campaign in the red and black. The 19-year-old defender - who also represents Illawarra Stingrays in the NSW Women's NPL, says a trip back to Wollongong in round one is the perfect way to start their season.
"There's a lot of girls from the Stingrays in our team and we're all really close. We know how each other play and we hang out all of the time. To just be in Wollongong, surrounded by friends and family, is going to be really exciting," Chauvet said.
"And to have the Stingrays there supporting as well is going to be amazing. It's a great club, and they're really supportive of us, so it will be great to see them there."
The Stingrays will run a pre-game event at WIN Stadium ahead of the Phoenix versus Wanderers women's game.
Participants will have a chance to meet players from both sides, and there will be a skills session as well as prize giveaways. There will also be a half-time mini match during the A-League Women's contest.
