For world tour runner-up Tyler Wright, family time can be hard to come by.
With brothers Owen and Mikey shredding waves of their own around the globe, it's not often the talented surfing family cross paths.
But as the both men's and women's tours combine to start the new season on the Gold Coast this weekend, the Wrights receive some rare moments out on the water together.
For Tyler, it's the ideal way to begin her campaign.
"It is really good because my whole family is up here right now. It is like a Christmas time of year and it doesn't happen often," Wright said.
"I love having them around, it is what I have grown up with. They are the ones who have pushed me my whole life.
"It is just family, you just feel comfortable ... It's a cool feeling."
Wright will meet Alana Blanchard and Johanne Defay in her opening heat of the season, but the laid back star knows what she is up against.
"I don't really look at that stuff - that isn't really the way I roll," Wright said.
"To be honest, I don't really like to look at anyone. For me it is just about the way I surf and how I surf.
"When I am in a heat I am kind of in my own world.
"I don't really worry about that kind of stuff, it is pointless and you can't really control it.
"I just do what I do and forget about the rest."
That same mentality motivates her for the season.
"For me it is not about worrying about where I am going, it is about being in the moment and enjoying what I am doing," Wright said.
"Not taking it for granted you know. Sometimes you can get so caught up in the end result you miss the whole journey. For me it is all about the good times along the way."
