The $350,000 upgrade will replace the roof lining and improve its structure to stop leaking.
Modifications to the structural steel that braces the roof have been finalised to limit its range of movement during severe weather conditions.
The lower section of roofing above the kiosk area at the front of the building has been completely sheeted and water tested.
A 20-metre section of the main roof has been replaced and is undergoing extensive water testing and quality assurance inspections prior to it being approved for implementation across the entire main roof area.
Mayor Marianne Saliba said the works have remained on schedule despite disruptions.
"This upgrade will help to ensure that our community can use the facility during all kinds of weather, at any time of the year," Cr Saliba said.
"We appreciate the community's support and their patience during the disruption to their regular sport competitions."
During coming weeks, painting of internal structural steel and roof height and pitch modifications to the main structure will be undertaken.
