Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship?
I would like to improve and I would like to learn more about how to prepare myself before a competition.
What is your pre-competition routine and how long have you been doing it?
My pre-competition routine is to do a two-lap warm-up followed by stretching, drills, run-throughs, and finishing off with a sprint.
Who's your favourite professional athlete and why?
My favourite professional athlete is Cathy Freeman. I believe she is a true inspiration.
What is your best memory from playing your sport?
My best memory would have to be when I went to PSSA nationals.
If you weren't playing this sport, what would you be doing and why?
I would probably surf more.
When did you start playing your sport and how did you get started?
I started athletics when I was three years old. I thought it would be a fun sport with a variety of events.
What are the greatest challenges balancing school and sport?
Time management - by getting my homework and assignments in and being able to train and compete.
What is your biggest disappointment in sport?
My biggest disappointment is if I set a goal to achieve and it doesn't turn out how it should.
What are your plans beyond school?
To keep going, achieve my personal best and to represent Australia at the Commonwealth or Olympic Games.
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be?
I would love to live in Fiji.
What do you do in your free time?
I love to hang out with my friends and family, walk my dog, surf and swim.
