People bearing the surnames Kellalea, Killalea, Killilea and Killelea and ancestors of Edward and Maria Killalea, one of the first people to live in the area, came from far and wide from the reunion.
The furthest travelled from San Fransisco and others arrived from Zimbabwe and interstate guests from Victoria and QLD.
A variety of events unfolded over the weekend giving the family a chance to reunite, discover the roots of their family tree through their DNA and reconnect via the family's complex history.
This year the reunion gave special recognition to Leanne Kellalea who passed away in 2010, at 52 years old.
Leanne fought passionately to protect the park from development and declare it a National Surfing reserve and was pivotal in organising the past three Killalea Reunions.
A plaque unveiling and tree planting was held in her memory.
