According to police, the 38-year-old was stopped by officers on the Princes Highway about 10.30pm and later registered a positive roadside breath test.
A subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.043.
Checks also revealed the man was unlicensed.
He will appear in Port Kembla Local Court next year.
Meanwhile, a driver allegedly hit speeds of 200km/h during a pursuit through the Southern Highlands on Wednesday.
The man’s white Holden Commodore was travelling at high speed when it was spotted by officers on the Illawarra Highway at Moss Vale about 4.30pm, police said.
A police radar check revealed the westbound vehicle was travelling at more than 160km/h in a 100km/h zone and a pursuit was initiated.
Police allege the Commodore travelled through Moss Vale township at more than 100km/h, where it hit a police car and another private vehicle before continuing.
No-one was injured.
After the vehicle left Moss Vale, police say the driver accelerated to 200km/h towards Sutton Forest and the pursuit was terminated.
The car was found driverless a short time later in Exeter and – acting on information – police arrested a 34-year-old man as he left a train at Goulburn railway station about 7pm.
A check of the man’s licence revealed he was disqualified from driving until 2019.
The man, from Granville, was taken to Goulburn police station where he was charged with failing to stop, driving dangerously; driving while disqualified; exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h; and not give particulars to other driver.
He was refused bail.
In another incident, a 51-year-old man from Sunshine Bay was arrested after a crash involving a motorcycle and pushbike on Beach Road, Batehaven, about 5pm on Wednesday.
Following a breath analysis at Batemans Bay police station where he returned a reading of 0.066, the man was issued with a court attendance notice for low-range PCA.
The male bike rider was taken to Batemans Bay Hospital by ambulance with a suspected fractured collarbone.
