Oak Flats Albion Park Gymnastics and Acrobatics Club won almost half the gold medals on offer at the recent national championships, in the best performance by any Australian club.

The South Coast club had an Australian-best 27 acrobats represent NSW for the nationals in Melbourne and won seven of the 17 gold medals awarded, plus two bronze medals.
It was the club's most successful performance and testimony to the hard work from the coaches and tireless commitment from their talented juniors.
Oak Flats Albion Park won six of the trio sections in Melbourne, including a sweep of the Level 9 to Level 6 trio categories.
Maddison Lacey, Mikayla Stephens and Molly Jewiss won gold in the International 12-18 Years trio, with Grace Fairall and Jessica Adams winning the International 12-18 Years pair.
Kristy Hay, Mykenna Collier and Mikayla Carr were outstanding in their routines, winning the International 11-16 Years trio.
Lauren Farquhar, Taylah Doosey and Alexis Edwards took home gold in the Level 9 trio, with Emily Apostolovski, Olivia Wilson and Kalila Stanley winning Level 8 trio and Caitlin O'Neil, Millie Savage and Mikayla Gumm claiming gold in Level 7 trio.
Alana Cairns, Sophie Edwards and Charlotte Thompson won the Level 6 trio with Jenna Irish and Maja Moore taking bronze in International 11-16 Years pair. Belinda Bertram and Jemima Clarke also performed well to claim bronze in the Level 6 pair.
Oak Flats Albion Park's 10th group at the nationals, Jerrica Lovatt, Danielle Lovatt and Jorja Rogers, had to withdraw from Level 9 trio after the first routine with Jorja injuring her knee in the warm-up.
The acrobats and their coaches have been training up to 18 hours a week for many months.
The International 12-18 Years trio and the 11-16 Years trio groups both achieved the qualifying score for the national squad.
During the national championships in Melbourne, the club was also presented with two national awards for 2014 achievements.
Maddison Lacey, Mikayla Stephens and Jessica Adams won the Junior International team of the year following their fabulous efforts at the 2014 World Age Championships in Paris, in which the 11-16 Years trio were named first reserve for the final after two great routines in qualifying.
Oak Flats Albion Park Gymnastics and Acrobatics Club head coach Kim Lacey won the National Coach of the Year.
After a short break, the club's acrobats will begin training for the National Club Championships in Bendigo in late September.
