A HOST of promising teenage Illawarra bowlers were among the top performers at the annual Drakes Pride Junior Carnival at Windang Bowling Club recently.

The four-day tournament featured 75 bowlers from across NSW and included singles, pairs and mixed team events with a different format each day.
Warilla's Toby Peters collected the Greg Helm Spirit of Bowls Award, while Warilla's Jayden Gebbe won the single entry event.
Warilla's Kate Davis played with Dubbo Railway's Jono Davis and player of the carnival Molly Wilton (Raymond Terrace) to finish runner-up in the mixed triples.
Illawarra zone 16 juniors Kayleigh Darlington and Kate Davis were equal third in the girls' singles, won by Molly Wilton.
Toby Peters was runner-up in the boys under 15s singles. Many players used the event as preparation for the following week's State Junior Championships in which Illawarra zone 16 won the fours while Dapto Citizens Jordan Taylor reached the singles final.
