The Illawarra Academy of Sport's annual presentation was held last Friday night at the Novotel Northbeach.
Proudly Sponsored by The IAS Major Events Sponsor Southern Phone, the night celebrated the athlete's achievements during the last 12 months and the successful completion of their 2015 scholarship.
The night was also an opportunity for the IAS to acknowledge and thank valued sponsors and partners whose generosity allows us to continue providing support to regionally based young talented sport citizens.
The night was one of the biggest presentation nights in the IAS's 30 years, with 395 in attendance.

COURTNEY BUCHANAN WINS IAS HIGHEST HONOUR
The Illawarra Academy of Sport, in 2002, created a new annual perpetual award which recognises excellence in junior sport in the Illawarra.
The award, presented to the Illawarra Academy of Sport's Athlete of the Year, was named "the Tobin Family Award" in recognition of that family's contribution to sports in the Illawarra for more than 65years. 2015 is the 14th year the award has been presented.
The recipient of the award receives a trophy and a $5000 scholarship to assist in their continued development within their chosen sport.
The IAS was excited to announce this year's winner was Courtney Buchanan, a member of the Academy's Individual Athlete Program.
Courtney has had an exceptional year in 2015, having fenced at U15, U17, U20, U23 and Open age levels on the National and NSW Circuits.
She has represented Australian internationally on two occasions, in Manila at the South East Asian Championships and Cape Town at the Commonwealth Cadet & Junior Championships.
In Manila fencing in the U17's, she won Bronze in the Team Event and then in South Africa was a quarter finalist in the U17s and finished in the Top 20 in U20s.
Courtney is now ranked 2nd in Australia at U15, Top 10 in Australia at U17, U20 and U23 and Top 20 in Australia at an open level. She is a strong ambassador for the sport of fencing, the Illawarra Academy of Sport and their partners.
