The Shellharbour City Suns Senior AFC recently unveiled their new Division 1 coach, James Walton.
The Suns struggled for numbers and victories in 2015, winning the unwanted wooden spoon in reserves.
Walton is a 16-year veteran of Kiama. The long-time player also coached the Power’s 2009 first grade premiership-winning side, and founded their junior club.
He last coached Kiama in 2014, and said he wanted to help build a stronger overall competition.
“I want to see the league get stronger and not the same clubs dominating all the time,” he said.
Adding some spice is Walton’s son Josh still plays for Kiama.
“I hope Shellharbour can build a healthy, respectful rivalry with Kiama now,” he said.
“I’ll always be a Kiama person, my love for the club will never change.”
