The event attracted more than 400 gymnasts for Australia, mainland United States, Hawaii, Japan, Canada and Guam.

The Shellharbour-based Carmel and Co Girls team competed in levels 3 through to 8 and achieved some outstanding results in a tough field of international competitors.

Zarah Ingram finished first on Floor, second on Vault to take fifth All Around in Level 3.

Mischa Goedde, Emma Darcy, Skye Tiernan, Micaela East, Cian Strong, Rylee Te Ahuru and Jordyn Burnett all competed in the hotly contested Level 4 Divisions.

 Highlights included Mischa’s fifth on Bar, sixth on Floor for seventh All Around.

Emma finished eighth All around with a fourth place on Floor and sixth on Bars. Skye finished with 8th on Bar.

 Micaela East played third All Around with a second on Bars and Beam plus a third on Floor.

Cian placed fourth on both Beam and Bars for seventh All Around, with Rylee taking eighth All Around with a sixth on Vault and eighth on Floor.

Jordyn Burnett placed second on Floor for eighth All around in her age division.

 Level 5 Gymnasts Indiana Lucas and Marli Pass shared an impressive second place All  Around.  Indiana was first on Beam & also Floor, with a fifth on Bars while Marli took out first place for the routine on Bars, plus was second on Floor and sixth on Vault.

Level 7 Gymnast Shiira De Horta also finished second All Around with a second on Bars, third on Beam and fourth on Floor. Team mate Ruby Pass took sixth on Beam, Floor and Vault for sixth All Around.

Miranda Blades was the sole Level 8 competitor after injury forced out team mate Emelia Withers. Miranda finished fourth  All Around with a fourth on Bars and Beam plus sixth on Vault.

 “We’re really proud of the Girl’s effort both leading up to the event, and at the competition itself. They all continued their training over the Christmas period,” says coach Carmel Blades.

 “They earned a quick one week holiday before resuming training for the Australian competition season.”
