Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, near Kaylaur Crescent, about 7.15am following reports of an accident involving a car and a pedestrian.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said a male, believed to be aged in his mid to late teens, was treated for a suspected fractured leg.
The teenager was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.
The accident caused southbound traffic delays for a short time, with the highway cleared by just after 7.30am.
