United will face League Championship winners Kemblawarra Fury in a blockbuster round one meeting at Macedonia Park.
The heavyweight clubs clubs met in the decider last season in a match which United claimed a convincing 3-1 triumph.
Kemblawarra were able to get the last laugh later in the regular season when they took out the League title before falling to Albion Park White Eagles in a thrilling grand final.
Bert Bampton Cup champions Wollongong Olympic will also make their return on the same night.
Olympic begin their preseason against Woonona, who are under new management in 2017 with Geoff Roster now in charge of the Sharks’ first grade squad.
Grand finals winners Park won’t begin their Cup campaign until Sunday afternoon when they face South Coast United at Barrack Heights Sportsfield.
Premier League new boys Corrimal are in action on Saturday afternoon against the Blueys at Tarrawanna Oval.
All Premier League and District League clubs have been split in two conferences with matches across the weekend.
