Mr Woods was found not guilty on a single charge of firing a firearm in a public place following a three-day trial in Wollongong District Court this week.
The 12-person jury returned its verdict on Thursday afternoon.
Jurors had earlier heard evidence that four shots had been fired into the Clematis Crescent home of Mr Woods’ partner’s mother, Karen Lyson, just after 11pm on September 17, 2015.

Ms Lyson told the court Mr Woods was behind thee shooting, claiming she recognised his distinctive mullet haircut when she looked out the window moments after the shots were fired.
However, other people inside the house at the time were unable to identify the shooter because of a lack of light.
The jury ultimately failed to believe Ms Lyson’s version of events.
