The Knights were in the hunt to upstage premiers Gerringong last weekend, until conceding second half tries to lose 30-22.
But Sharks coach Abed Atallah has conceded they are also still struggling to put a complete performance, even after winning the first ever Shellharbour derby 44-8 over the Stingrays at Flinders Oval.
“The boys attitude the last couple of weeks has been really good,” Atallah said after the win over the Stingrays.
“They know what to do and it’s slowly coming together for us.
“It was another good 40-minute performance in the first half and there were patches in the second half.”
Meanwhile, improving Warilla, last year’s grand finalists, face an important trip to Mollymook on Sunday when they take on Milton-Ulladulla.
The Gorillas and Bulldogs are part of the early-season logjam, as Port Kembla hope to keep pace with the contenders when they travel to Berry on Saturday.
