A dagger blow in injury time from Sydney FC’s Will Mutch consigned the Wollongong Wolves to a 2-1 road loss at Lambert Park on Saturday night.

Mutch hammered home a cross at the back post in the concluding stages to propel the Sky Blues to a dramatic victory.
The man-of-the-moment had earlier leveled the score for the hosts just two minutes after Patrick Antelmi had opened the scoring in the 74th minute.
Both sides were pushing for the winner, but it was Mutch who fired the winning shot much to the dismay of Wolves coach Jacob Timpano.
“We got caught on the break which was disappointing,” he said.
“They are a good side.
“They didn’t really create many chances, but create two chances and scored two goals.
“I don’t think Justin [Pasfield] really made a save all game but they just keep it well without doing too much with it.
“The draw probably would have been a fair result.”
The defeat was compounded by injuries to Hayden Morton and Peter Simonoski.
Simonoski appeared to re-injure the same groin in the first half which kept him out for the majority of last season while Morton limped off in the final 10 minutes with a hamstring injury.
James Baldacchino would have been the likely replacement for Morton, but the centre back will be out of action for the Wolves as he partakes in a Maltese Under-21 camp.
The Wolves meet Parramatta next week.
