The Kembla trainer has taken a patience approach with her ‘naughty’ mare and was rewarded when the six-year-old surged from the back of the field to win the Simon Papesch Memorial Benchmark 65 Handicap (1200m).
It was Mydream’s first win for more than two years.
The classy mare had endured a torrid 12 months, but finally looks ready to get back to her best.
“She has had a long time off and her run first up was so, so good,” Harrison said.
“She has won eight races, actually nine now. She is really naughty, which really tests us, but is worth it.”
- PROMISING TYPE
Zardoro’s maiden victory at Moruya on Tuesday certainly won’t be his last for Shoalhaven Heads trainer Terry Robinson.
At his second start, Robinson’s son of Medaglia D’Oro scored brilliantly in the Simat Constructions 3YO Maiden Plate (1200m).
“It was very pleasing,” stable representative Anna Robinson told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
“He is still very green but has some ability.”
The victory was one of two for Robinson on the afternoon after Fui San claimed the opening event on the card.
- QUICK BACK UP
Kerry Parker has thrown in a Listed Civic Stakes (1350m) nomination for consistent mare Heavenly Anna.
The daughter of Duporth has been a great money spinner for the stable over the past couple of months, but would be forced to back up from running sixth in a Benchmark 81 race at Randwick last Saturday.
Acceptances for the meeting at Rosehill Gardens will be announced on Wednesday morning.
