More than 1100 Wollongong and Shellharbour residents cast their council election votes on the first day of pre-poll voting on Monday.

Pre-polling is open to people who will be unable to vote – for a number of different reasons – on September 9.

There are pre-poll booths at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre, Thirroul community centre and at the Wollongong Returning officer’s office on Auburn Street – where 730 votes were cast in total on the first day of pre-poll.
Shellharbour’s are at the old council chamber in Warilla and Shellharbour stadium – with 417 votes cast on Monday.
Most pre-poll locations are open from 8.30am-5.30pm until September 8.
If you are going to be overseas during pre-polling and on election day, you can apply for a postal vote – however you need to nominate a fixed address overseas to do so. Applications must be received by next Monday.
