The award recognises the service and calibre of the tourism activity Skydive Australia offers independent travellers at its five drop zones in the NSW including the home base in Wollongong,
Skydive Sales and Marketing general manager Andrew Denman said the achievement was credit to the work and abilities of staff.
He said it showed the company was also on target to achieving its goal of being the best in adventure tourism around the country.
“To win such a prestigious award as Best Activity NSW is an honour and testament to the product we are supplying to the tourism market,” he said.
“We are always conscious of the fact that we started with a single drop zone here in Wollongong and with the support and feedback of that community we have developed a business that continues to grow.
“We are extremely proud of our Wollongong base because it is here we created and nurtured the systems and customer experience that forms the core of our company’s philosophy and has been incorporated into our other facilities. We’d like to thank our customers for their feedback and votes and for helping us to shape the adventure experiences we provide.”
The Golden Backpack Awards are the original and most established awards to reward companies working hard to make backpacking in Australia and NZ the best experience possible.
