The 50-year-old man was stopped after officers spotted him riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle along King Street about 8.15am on Tuesday.
Police will allege the motorcycle was last registered in 2009 and that the rider had been disqualified from driving until 2021.
The man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra police station.
He was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, using an uninsured vehicle and driving while disqualified.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on January 18.
The number plate of the motorcycle was removed and returned to Roads and Maritime Services.
