Through their business Soccerman, the brothers blend their love of football with their desire to teach children the importance of healthy and safe choices.
“It's about encouraging children to be happy, active and to follow their dreams," Matt said.
"The app allows children to have educational screen time but it also promotes being active and playing outdoors. Having a balance of both is important.”
The app, which also comes in Chinese, follows the story of Soccerman – a character developed by the brothers as a vehicle to help teach their educational message.
For Jacob, who suited up for the Young Socceroos during his player days, it’s the perfect way to combine his two passions.
"It is a great way to promote healthy living and give back to the game," he said.
“When I retired I didn’t have many work opportunities so we came up with the SoccerMan concept. Both of our backgrounds have helped us along the way to encourage children to be healthy and active.”
