Thirty five of the Illawarra’s top hockey players are preparing to travel to Goulburn for the Australian Indoor Hockey Championships.

The festival of hockey will see multiple competitions run throughout January, with the men’s and women’s open tournaments set to begin on the 4th of January. The under 18s will round out the event, with the finals taking place on the 25th.
Illawarra South Coast representatives will feature in all eight NSW teams, with eight players from the region featuring in the under 21 men’s team and seven appearing in the open men’s team. The open women’s team will see Elanor Woods, Ashleigh Wright and Claire Rieck competing, while Kelsey Hughes, Riley Smith and Kiarra Marsh will feature in the NSW under 21 women’s team.
A further eight Illawarra South Coast players will compete in the under 13 and under 15 competitions, with Samuel Wright-Smith headlining a talented group of juniors.
