Fletcher MacDonald played a key role in NSW Country’s victory in the under 16 competition, scoring 44 points throughout the week-long tournament.
The team defeated Victoria 88-72 in the final, avenging a 77-64 loss to the Victorians earlier in the competition.
Fellow Illawarra junior Jayden Wright was a member of the NSW Country Kookaburras team that finished third. Wright had 36 points throughout the tournament.
MacDonald and Wright were not the only Illawarra juniors to travel to Albury Wodonga for the tournament, with a total of 25 boys and girls representing NSW Country across the three age groups.
Three players, Tobias Delaney, Joshua Dent & Zoe Roulston, were selected to represent Australian Country.
The Australian Country teams will tour New Zealand later in the year.
