Pre-sale tickets for the event at Stuart Park went on sale May 31 while general admission became available on Tuesday June 5, with all allocations snapped up by 9:45am Wednesday.
It comes after co-founder Ben Tillman told the Illawarra Mercury last week the group had “spent more money on bands, more money on all the infrastructure” and increased patron capacity to 18,000 people over the two days (up from 14,000 in 2017).
More than 48 artists will play across two stages on September 29 and 30 including headliners Alison Wonderland, Peking Duk plus Angus and Julia Stone.
It’s expected a smaller scale Under 18 event will be announced in the near future.
Music fans are reminded of new laws introduced in NSW on June 1, clamping down on scalping and ticket resale websites.
Fines of up to $11,000 have been introduced for anyone re-selling a ticket for more than 10 per cent of the purchase price, while event organisers have the power to cancel the ticket and refuse entry to the person who holds it.
“These laws create a level playing field so genuine fans can buy tickets to concerts and sporting events without being slapped with hugely inflated re-sale prices,” said Minister for Better Regulation Matt Kean.
“Fair Trading received more than 1,000 complaints and enquiries about entertainment and ticketing issues in 2016-17, with [online ticket re-seller] Viagogo named on the Complaints Register every month for the last year.”
