Set on a 760sqm block, the home at 10 Hoffman Street, Thirroul features five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Selling agent, One Agency Denison-Pender Property principal Vanessa Denison-Pender said the property has a price guide of $1.85 million to $1.95 million.
“The house was built by the current owners and is about five years old,” she said.
“It is a dream family home with quality finishes, heated pool and spa on one of the largest blocks in McCauley’s Beach Estate.
“(The most appealing features are) definitely the living/dining, entertaining and pool area, they’re spectacular.
“This house has everything.”
The current owners, who wished to remain anonymous, are originally from Sydney and relocated to the Illawarra about 15 years ago.
One of the owners said they had grown attached to the property, saying it would be difficult to be “leaving the perfect home”.
However, they will be staying in Thirroul, but are upgrading their location closer to the beach.
“Thirroul’s the place we want to stay in,” he said.
The home’s features include free-flowing open-plan living areas that link to a private, north-facing entertaining area boasting a gas heated in-ground swimming pool with spa.
The owner said they had looked to build the dream family home to raise their three children, now aged five, 11 and 14.
He said a key aspect of creating the ideal family home was ensuring “everyone was connected together”.
“We wanted everything to flow, so everyone was connected.
“The design is easy living; that’s what attracted us to it.
“It’s a really open-plan house, and we continued it on out to the backyard with the alfresco, and then it wraps around into a pool, which is built just off the house.
“So you can see the kids in the pool while you’re sitting inside, or you can be sitting outside and still see them in the pool.
“It’s a very safe environment, especially for a growing family.
“A lot of the blocks now are small; because it was a decent sized block we wanted to have some yard for the kids.
“That’s why we built the house to one side and incorporated that side yard to have some play area for the kids, which we fully fenced.”
Ms Denison-Pender said they were receiving plenty of interest from families, both locally and from Sydney.
“It’s not a downsizer or (for) a first home buyer,” she told the Mercury.
