Emergency services were called to the Kembla street complex about 11.30am Monday, after the female staffer raised the alarm.
The Mercury understands it was an envelope containing “what appeared to be a solvent-based” substance that sparked the emergency response.
Four fire crews, including two specialist Hazmat units from Shellharbour, attended and tested the package, which was then given the all-clear.
Paramedics assessed the staffer as a precaution; she was cleared to continue with her duties.
