Real Estate Business magazine has again commended the top performing females in the industry, naming the nation’s top 50 based on data for residential sales in 2017.
Ray White Shellharbour Oak Flats Group principal Ms Bonnici has been named at No.24 in the ‘Top 50 Women in Real Estate 2018’ ranking, up two spots from last year’s list.
The list, now in its third year, ranks female real estate agents throughout Australia according to a range of metrics, including total sales volume, total number of deals and average sales price.
Shellharbour resident Ms Bonnici sold 108 residential properties for a total value of $88,556,620, with the average listing snapped up after 67 days on the market.
“It’s always an honour to be recognised like that,” Ms Bonnici said.
Earlier this year, Ms Bonnici, 45, also made her debut on the Real Estate Business ‘Top 100 Agents list’, securing the No.88 spot.
“Making the top females list is probably a little more important to me,” she said.
“It’s probably more of an honour, because of the sacrifices we make as mothers and families to do the job.”
Ms Bonnici has been working in the real estate industry for 13 years; she was encouraged to do so by her father, who believed she’d be good at it.
“I think he did that because I like to talk, listen and help people,” she said.
“It wasn’t until my early thirties that I went into the industry. I didn’t necessarily want to go into sales; I just went in there to get a job.
“But the owner pushed me into sales, which turned out to be a good move.”
REB editor Tim Neary said that this year’s ranking attracted the country’s elite women sales professionals who are excelling despite some of the challenges facing the industry.
“It is the foremost ranking of female agents in Australia.
“Those who make the prestigious list are emulated, sought-after and held in the highest esteem, even by competitors who are chasing their tails.
“It tells of a group of female agents separating themselves from the pack by being true business leaders in the industry - in the face of some seriously challenging headwinds.”
