Kiama has set up a grand final showdown with University in the Illawarra Junior Rugby Union 1st XV decider after defeating Shamrocks in the preliminary final.

The minor premiers suffered a shock 20-7 loss to University in last week’s major semi-final, however they rebounded to book a grand final berth with a 39-14 victory over Shamrocks.
Kiama will hold the home field advantage, with all six junior grand finals to be played at Kiama Showground, however the Bulls will be confident after defeating their rivals a fortnight ago.
The first XV victory came on a day of mixed results for Kiama, with the under 13s suffering a shock 27-17 loss to a merged Shamrocks/Tech Tahs side on Sunday. The loss came on the back of a 40-0 defeat to minor premiers Camden in the major semi-final.
Shamrocks/Tech Tahs will head into the grand final as heavy underdogs, having suffered three defeats to Camden during the season.
The Kiama second XV side also saw their season come to an end on Sunday, falling 33-14 to a talented Camden side. The Rams victory sets up a grand final battle in the under 14/15 competition with fierce rivals Campbelltown.
The two sides will also face off in the under 11s grand final after Camden held off Tech Tahs to prevail 26-22.
The under 12s grand final will see Kiama take on Campbelltown after Kiama fought through a tense final on Sunday. Incredibly, Kiama and Camden were deadlocked at nil-all when the referee blew full-time, with Kiama advancing based on their higher finish on the ladder.
There were similar circumstances in the under 10s preliminary final, with Campbelltown and Bowral unable to be separated. The scoreline finished at 17-apiece, but like the Kiama under 12s, Campbelltown progressed as the higher seeded team.
The Harlequins will face a confident Kiama team, bolstered not just by the home-field advantage, but also by a 31-5 victory over the Harlequins in the major semi-final a fortnight ago.
