The Gerringong community has been extremely generous donating to the worthy cause, which was made possible through collections at the IGA store.
After much research, the club decided the money would be distributed by way of gift cards to the value of $500, which will be distributed by a rural counsellor.
The money can then be spent in the local community for fuel, food, water or other essential needs.
The club will also issue a second round of cards over the Christmas and New Year period.
IGA manager Matt Bourke and staff were given a Certificate of Appreciation by president Tim Lawrance.
