The three girls, Georgia Mitchell, Lucinda Nash and Lilly Twigg, starred for Illawarra South Coast at the State Championships and were rewarded for their efforts with selection in the NSW Stars team.
The Stars finished the tournament in fourth place, with six wins, two draws and three losses. The NSW Lions won the competition on for and against, after finishing equal on points with the Victoria Venom.
Twigg was among her side’s best, scoring three goals throughout the competition, while Nash added two goals of her own.
With the field season now having wrapped up, the girls will turn their focus towards the indoor hockey season.
The Illawarra South Coast will contest the under 13 state championships, with the tournament being played in Orange on the first weekend of November.
