Wright-Smith was a standout throughout the entire competition, finishing as the top goal scorer and named player of the tournament upon its conclusion.
“Sam was selected in the under 15 indoor side last year and is a current state field hockey player as well,” Illawarra South Coast coach David Johnston said. “The icing on the cake was him getting player of the tournament.
“It is thoroughly deserved, he was the top goal scorer in the tournament and by far the best player.”
The Illawarra will also be represented in the girls state team, with Charli Corbin and Imogen Fowles gaining selection in the under 15 girls indoor side.
The three Illawarra players will represent NSW at the Australian Indoor Championships in Goulburn in mid-January.
