The juniors were greeted by outstanding surfing conditions, with quality waves allowing athletes to produce their best surfing.
Smith recorded impressive results all the way through the competition, eventually finishing in second in the 14 and under boys division.
Smith finished behind Manly’s Winter Vincent, and edged out Victoria’s Charlie Mahoney who finished with the bronze medal.
Vincent was a step above the competition for the entirety of the event, dominating the heats and final and was the recipient of the boys most outstanding performer award.
The series will now move to the Sunshine Coast for the final round of the competition in mid-December, before the top-ranked surfers descend on Woonona for the finals in January.
