While the food charity is out in the community with its coffee van daily with food, coffee and personal care items helping those in need. Including Monday to Friday in Globe Lane from 9am to 11am.
“We also help many people in need through its emergency food referral system,” Shaz Harrison said.
But Need a Feed still conducts several food hamper distributions a year.
Ms Harrison said Need a Feed still relied on donations from the community at its various collection points and was presently collecting for the December 14 Christmas distribution during a barbecue in MacCabe Park.
On Monday it received the support of the Keiraville Cubs who helped packed the hampers at the Uniting Church in Bulli before families came and collected them at Darcy House, Port Kembla on Tuesday morning.
Recipients got something a little extra from the Keiraville Scouts this week.
“They are also making Christmas cards which is a beautiful touch,” Ms Harrison said.
Drop of locations for the Christmas distribution include the Uniting Church in Bulli, Auto Change Mechanical, Albion Park Community Centre and Horizon Credit Union branches.
“There are a few pre-schools around the Illawarra collecting as well,” Ms Harrison said.
