
After travelling the length and breadth of the nation Wollongong’s The String Family is about to stage the final concert of its three year Australia tour.
And it is doing its encore performance close to home at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on Sunday.
The Australian National Busking Champions will not only display their great talent but give an insight into full-time life on the road that has allowed the family of musicians to live their dream.
Parents Joel and Sarah Moir and their son Heath ,16, and daughter Ashleigh, 14, are classically trained and have traveled more than 120,000km entertaining Australians from the Sydney Opera House to camp kitchens of outback caravan parks.
They have performed more than 350 shows in the last three years and the multi-award winning nomadic quartet’s encore performance is billed as a ‘classical crossover’ of music from around the world. The show features everything from Queen and Coldplay to Zorba’s Dance and Hava Nagila.
Mrs Moir is regarded a world class musician who was a member of The String Angels for many years. And has also performed and toured with Ronan Keating, Kylie Minogue, Susan Boyle, Seal and Boy & Bear.
