Chief executive and chief lawyer Diana Foye said sound legal advice and achieving the best possible outcome for each and every client is how the Wollongong law firm is approaching its expansion into family law.
The new family law division was launched on Monday following the Ms McCrohan’s recruitment.
After graduating with Distinction from University of Wollongong she established herself as an expert in family law through her extensive experience handling high-asset divorces, complex property settlements, child custody disputes, child support issues and de facto and same sex relationships.
And as an appointee to the panel for Legal Aid NSW, she can also assist with family law legal aid cases.
Ms McCrohon said she was excited about the prospect of being part of a dynamic and reputable firm that has their clients’ best interests at heart.
“I always knew I wanted to work in an environment where I could make a difference and help people,” she said.
“Family is so important to me. Relationship breakdowns are an extremely stressful time for everyone involved.
“I always listen to my clients so that I am able to assess their needs and provide them with sound legal advice and help them achieve the best possible outcomes as quickly as possible so that they can move forward with their lives.
“Foye Legal is forging a new path in the Illawarra with the way it provides its legal services to its clients and I wanted to be a part of that and help the firm grow by leading the family law division”.
Ms Foye said the firm is committed to bringing new services and attracting high-calibre legal talent.
“Foye Legal now offers a complete legal service for current and future clients. The firm’s website is also being redeveloped to capture its suite of services”.
“We are committed to ensuring our clients have the most innovative and skilful lawyers to provide practical and effective legal services.”
Ms Foye launched Foye Legal in 2015 after a successful career in Sydney.
During the last few years it has grown into one of the largest boutique law firms in the Illawarra providing specialist legal services.
That recent expansion will result in Foye Legal relocating in March to a larger space on the third floor of its present Market Street location.
Ms McCrohan’s arrival follows the recent announcement of former Sydney solicitor Peter Snell as a new partner. Mr Snell and Ms Foye were previously part of a legal partnership at one of Sydney’s largest national litigation law firms where they worked together for 13 years.
Mr Snell brings to the Illawarra more than 20 years’ experience as a solicitor. He has worked in State and Federal Workers' Compensation, the highly specialised Dust Diseases Tribunal, migration law and complex compensation litigation. Much of his work has involved representing government organisations, insurers and Australia’s largest corporates.
