The Illawarra’s top swimmers have travelled down to Ulladulla for the South Eastern Swimming Association Championships, with Wollongong Swim Club and Wests Illawarra among the top performing clubs.
Swimming powerhouse Wests reigned supreme at the competition, taking out the overall point score, while Wollongong finished in second place.
The Wollongong effort was led by Jarrod Dyer, who won an incredible 10 events and set six new SESA records.
Dyer was pushed the entire weekend in the 10 multi-class events by his brother Tarren, who returned home with 10 silver medals.
Overall, Wollongong swimmers broke 13 SESA records, with Teagan Myers setting three new records. Other record breakers included Veronica Simmons-Curcio, Samuel Herraman, Lukas Burri and Courtney Lendvay.
The region’s swimmers will now turn their attention to the NSW Country Swimming Championships, to be held on February 22-24.
