Science Space in North Wollongong is showing a series of "cult classics" from this month through to September.
Director Stuart Creal said the space was no longer just for children or science nerds as they were finding "new and unusual ways" to bring people in.
"[The planetarium] allows our guests to marvel at the wonders of night sky in a way that could never be imagined without travelling to areas without light pollution, but also enjoy some science fiction classics in the comfort of our planetarium," Mr Creal said.
Ridley Scott's Blade Runner: The Final Cut will kick-off the series on March 15. Other movies in the series include The Incredibles, Alien, Back to the Future and Tron.
