Dyer starred at the recent Australian Age Swimming Championships, where he claimed two gold, four silver and two bronze medals at the competition.
The victories came in the 100 metres freestyle and 50m butterfly events.
As part of the Para Potential Squad, Dyer will be exposed to elite training environments to help enhance his competition development.
The goal of the squad is to elevate members to a level where they can represent Australia at international meets.
Dyer's selection comes as his club, Wollongong Swim Club, launched their annual winter point score series last month.
Youngsters Kaylie Wilkinson and Oliver Johnson received the first two swimmer of the week awards.
