Emergency services received reports of the incident, which occurred on Lawrence Hargrave Drive and near Railway Terrace, at 12.42pm.
A male motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time, has reportedly run into a metal pole while travelling at high speed.
Initial reports suggested that the man had sustained a head injury and potentially a leg injury, although according to Ambulance officials the injuries don't appear to be serious in nature.
One ambulance crew is on-scene, with more on the way.
The man is conscious and breathing.
According to LiveTraffic, traffic is affected in both directions.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution.
