Demented dolls, creepy crawlies and skeletons at every turn.
A decapitated body protruded from underneath the garage door and another dismembered corpse crawled seemingly by itself across the driveway towards anyone who dared come too close.
Yet there were nothing but smiles on the faces of the children, and adults, who walked into Tracey and Mauro Belsito's home in Jindabyne Rd, Flinders.
For Tracey, who put in the hard work decorating the house all day on Thursday, that was exactly the result she was after.
"You know what, it's just the kids coming around looking. It puts a smile on your face," Tracey said.
"My kids have grown up and I said 'well, I've stopped doing Christmas I'm just gonna start doing Halloween'."
Like many areas around the region, the Shellharbour suburb was alive with "trick-or-treaters", children dressed in costume to celebrate the festival of Halloween.
The celebration is continuing to grow around Australia.
It was the third year the Belsito family had decorated their house.
"A lot of people don't like it, but it is getting bigger," Tracey said.
Tracey said the many decorations that adorned her house were borrowed, made and some purchased "much to my husband's distress".
