Vaughan was stood down on the day of the Dragons clash with the Roosters in Wollongong after it emerged he'd dined out for breakfast in contravention of the game's biosecurity protocols.

He was subsequently fined $10,000 and forced into 14-day quarantine, keeping him out of Friday's victory over the Eels.

The quarantine period will end on Thursday, the day before his side travels to Brisbane on game day.

Some have questioned whether he'll earn an immediate recall but, with forward depth stretched by suspension to Jackson Ford and Tyrell Fuimaono, the Test prop will likely be rushed back into the side.

Sims says he'll want to atone for the indiscretion after a frustrating stint in isolation.

"I've spoken to him a couple of times, he's a very emotional person when it comes to getting told to stay home rather than just having to stay home," Sims said.

"It's a bit tough for him at the moment, he knows he did the wrong thing and I'm sure this weekend he'll be able to make up for his mistakes, for the boys, the team and the club.

"He'll bounce back fairly easily from this but I'm sure it'll still play on his mind, he's going to be very apologetic about it all but hopefully he can transfer that onto the field. Hopefully he's been staying fit chasing his little girl around the house and it'll be good to get him back on the park again soon.'
