The Personnel Group has been providing disability employment services to people with a disability or mental health condition.for the last 34 years and has supported tens of thousands of people into work since 1986.
Last Friday CoAct agreed to transfer disability employment services in the Illawarra to the team at The Personnel Group who will now take on the role of supporting their clients into ongoing employment.
In 2018, it expanded its footprint into the Illawarra and now has offices in Corrimal, Wollongong and Shellharbour. It will soon open a new office in Dapto.
CoAct/Workways saw a benefit to their clients by consolidating contracts to The Personnel Group which was already a member organisation delivering other jobactive employment specialist programs in partnership with CoAct.
The Personnel Group chief executive Tracey Fraser said the team in the Illawarra felt honoured to be selected to continue the work Workways has done for its clients.
"We aim to provide an excellent service for our new clients, and will ensure that the transition will have a minimal impact on all clients," Ms Fraser said.
"We are pleased to say that all existing team members will continue working and servicing their clients under the banner of The Personnel Group.
"Clients will be able to continue on with their job seeking journey with their existing employment consultant, enabling a smooth transition for everyone".
Workways Australia chief executive Kieren Kearney thanked the Illawarra community for supporting job seekers in the region.
"Employers across Wollongong have provided great employment opportunities for job seekers, and it is pleasing to know that our job seekers will continue to be guided and supported by the experienced team at The Personnel Group.
"We also thank our dedicated and hard working staff who will continue in their roles under The Personnel Group."
