Photographs and interviews depicting harsh memories from the devastating bushfires that ravaged the South Coast last summer, will be on exhibition at The Gallery in Mogo next month.

The exhibition, which runs from October 2 to 11, has been described as a "healing project" from Creative Arts Batemans Bay Inc (CABBI) who asked the community to share their experiences through photos and stories.
Supported by Coordinare's South Eastern NSW Primary Health Network 'Supporting Communities in Recovery' program, the initiative aims to build resilience and promote emotional healing, and aid in the post trauma recovery.
CABBI president Robert Creed said the stories reveal you don't have to lose your home to be "deeply affected" by disaster.
"Thousands of people in our community suffered stress and anxiety," he said.
"Having to evacuate time and time again, not knowing what you might come home to. It really took a toll on people."
More than 230 photos will be on exhibition, with an audio soundscape of recorded interviews to play in the background.
The Gallery at Mogo is just south of Batemans Bay, and will be open daily to the public from 10am to 4pm.
