The comedian and event producer is bringing his "Magic Mic Comedy" with some of Sydney and the Illawarra's funniest people to the UniBar at the University of Wollongong on October 17.
After losing his hospitality jobs when lockdown hit, the 29-year-old chose to take the plunge and focus his attention full-time to making people laugh.
Mr Skinner said most punters usually saw a national or international comedian at a big venue, maybe once a year, and not often checked out the local scene. But with dancing and singing banned, it leaves the door to comedy clubs wide open.
"There's no live music so everyone's coming to comedy," Mr Skinner said. "It's worked in my favour to get more people to it to experience [stand-up]."
Magic Mic Comedy On Tour will feature Kyle Legacy, Anthony Locascio, Elliott Rovedi, Harry Jun, Tom Witcombe, Sam Menzies and John Xenos.
It's at 7:30pm on October 17, at the UOW UniBar. Tickets through Moshtix.
