The party will be held outdoors on Wednesday to comply with COVID -19 restrictions.
The 2020 version of the event is being called The KidzWish Wild Christmas Adventure and will see 800 children and their carers enjoy a free day at Symbio Wildlife Park near Helensburgh.
The children will get to see entertaining animal shows and receive a visit from Santa Claus.
Despite the pandemic, organisers were determined to proceed with an annual Christmas party for local children with a sickness, disability or disadvantage in the Illawarra who often faced challenging times.
KidzWish spokesperson Renee Hawira for some children the gift they were given at the annual Christmas Party might be the only one they receive during the festive season.
Wednesday's event will run from 10am to 3pm at Symbio Wildlife Park with two scheduled show performances at 11am and 1:30pm.
There will be a special performance from the KidzWish Fairy as well as the KidzWish Music and Dance Group.
Santa Claus will also be making an appearance.
Ms Hawira said the special day at Symbio Wildlife Park to replace the annual children's Christmas party was made possible by Matt Radnidge, Kevin Fallon and the team at the family run zoo near Helensburgh.
Mr Fallon said Symbio will provide COVID-safe entry and other procedures throughout the day.
They will also space out picnic blankets for the families to experience a special movie treat at the end of the day when the park closes.
